Hello and Welcome - We are Glad You Found Us!
Our Sunday Worship Service times are: 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
For the Week Starting 03/17
THE SOCIAL MINISTRY COMMISSION will meet this morning from 9:15 to 10:15 (between services), in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome. Snacks will be provided.
OUR MIDWEEK LENTEN SERIES, “SERMON ON THE MOUNT,” continues this Wednesday with worship at 7:30 p.m. Our service focus will be, “Prayer and Fasting.” Lent is a season of prayer and fasting. We grow in our relationship with Christ by communicating with Him, and we learn more about Him and ourselves by giving up those things that can distract us from our connection to Him. We will use the Holden Evening Prayer liturgy, and the service will include readings from Scripture, a sermon and a hymn to help us focus on our journey of faith in this sacred season.
LENTEN DEVOTIONAL BOOKLETS are in a basket on the narthex table—please take one for yourself and/or your family. Our main devotion booklet this year is called, “Sermon on the Mount” and goes with the midweek Lenten/Holy Week theme we will follow. We also offer a devotion booklet with stickers and a centerpiece/poster for families with young children.
SOUP SUPPERS IN LENT— Prior to our midweek service on Wednesdays, please join us for soup and fellowship. Our soup supper “season” continues this Wednesday, March 20, and begins at 6:15. All are welcome! The sign-up sheet is on the narthex table – indicate if you can bring soup or dessert.
ORDER FORMS FOR EASTER FLOWERS are in a basket on the narthex table. If you would like to order a special flower to adorn the sanctuary on Easter Sunday, please fill out a form and put it with your payment in the ALTAR FLOWER mailbox no later than Sunday, March 31.
“WHO AM I?” “WHAT AM I DOING HERE?” is the title of a six-session video-based Bible study that Pastor Wismar will lead at two different times, this month through April. One study time is for men only, with the fourth session this coming Saturday, March 23; the study then continues on April 13 and 27. The other study is for all people, with the next class on Wednesday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m.
PRELUDES FOR LENT: CALLING ALL MUSICIANS! You are invited to play for a service prelude or two during the Lenten season and/or Holy Week. Solo, duet with Ms. Finck, or other combo welcome. Pick a Sunday, service time and a hymn or song of your choice. See the sign-up sheet in the narthex, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
