SAVE THE DATE—OCTOBER 2ND AND 3RD: Do you ever see people and wonder what their names are? Have you ever heard an announcement regarding a member and wished you could put a face with a name? Are you a new member and wish you had something to help you put names with faces? Help is on the way! We are producing a pictorial church family album! There is no cost to have your portraits taken, and you will receive a complimentary 8 X 10 portrait along with a printed directory for participating. At your session you will be able to view your images electronically and have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits to share with family and friends. More information to come!
OUR WEBSITE HAS BEEN UPDATED! Please visit www.holycrosstrumbull.org and see all of the great changes we have made.
THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES for Covenant to Care for Children are due next Sunday, August 9. Thank you for the overwhelming support for this project that was received following last Sunday’s announcement!! To date all 26 backpack shopping cards have been taken, as well as the cards for the binders, pencils, pencil pouches, erasers, highlighters, Kleenex and scissors. Stop by the display board in the narthex to see what supplies are still needed. Backpacks filled with supplies will be given to the children under the care of our congregation’s “adopted” DCF social worker. Thank you in advance for helping to support less fortunate children within our community.
REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS: To make our new church pictorial directory a success we need volunteers. While the Shepherds are overseeing and assisting with the effort we are looking for a coordinator and volunteers to help with photography sign-ups, telephoning our members, or serving as a host or hostess during the photography sessions. If interested please contact Gary Messerschmitt at firstname.lastname@example.org, 203-220-8580, or phone the church office.
CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS! Do you have candid pictures of Holy Cross gatherings or outreach? Photos from the annual Church Picnic or Crop Walk? Volunteers at the soup kitchen? We are gathering photos to put on the website to show our activities and for all to enjoy. E-mail Gary Messerschmitt (email@example.com) for instructions on how to transfer the photos.
