SUNDAY SCHOOL DIRECTORS AND TEACHERS NEEDED! Many of our Sunday School teachers are stepping down this year after several decades of teaching and this includes our co-directors. Replacements are needed if we are to continue to educate our kids in the Christian way. Please contact Kimberly Atkinson if you are interested in any positions or co-chairing or teaching.

ATTENTION FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AGES 3 THROUGH GRADE 12: Please join us for another exciting adventure in Sunday School this year! We will be using Bible study, extension activities, and projects to learn and grow in Christ. Registration forms are located on the narthex table and on our church website, so register your children today! Sunday School begins at
10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 8. Can’t wait to see you there!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A VENDOR at our “Breakfast & Artists” event this Fall (or do you know someone who might be)? We’re looking for people interested in selling their crafts, artwork, jewelry, baked goods, photography, needlework, or other special hobby. The date of our event is SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2, at 9 a.m. Please contact Stephanie (slhelminger@yahoo.com) or Kendra (kendranorman@aol.com) if you’re interested!

SEPTEMBER 1: Our congregation will be hosting Pastor Wismar’s 15-year ministry anniversary and Holy Cross farewell on Sunday, September 1. Deaconess Tiffany Manor from the District Office will join us. Please sign up to assist with set-up, yummy food contributions or clean-up.

NAMES OF THOSE REQUESTING PRAYERS are listed in our weekly bulletin. If you submitted a prayer request, please keep the church office updated on the individual’s condition. We want to keep this list current, offering a prayer of thanksgiving when appropriate. If you would like someone added or removed from the list, please let us know!

BOOK DISCUSSION: Please see Michele Van Wart if you are interested in discussing David Brook’s The Second Mountain: The Quest for a Moral Life in the next few weeks.

SAFETY IN OUR HOUSES OF WORSHIP – A discussion of being safe in our sacred places. Members are invited to this presentation by the Connecticut State Police, Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:00 p.m. here at Holy Cross. Area church leaders also have been invited.

CHURCH DIRECTORY UPDATE: The Church Office plans to update the membership phone & address directory with the hope of having a new directory available sometime this fall. Please take the time to look at your entry in the current directory (yellow cover, dated Summer 2017). If you have changes to your contact information or would like to add a cell phone # and/or e-mail address, please submit the changes in writing or e-mail the church office: office@holycrosstrumbull.com. Also, if you have adult children listed in your family information and they no longer “live at home” we can give him or her their own listing—all we’d need is their contact information. Submit any changes by September 9. Thanks in advance for your help.
