Everything we believe, teach, and confess to be true is founded on the person of Jesus. We say “person” of Jesus because it’s not just what he said, taught, or did that's important—it’s WHO He is. Just as you are more than your words, your occupation, your personality, and whatever else defines you, you are a unique person, and so is Jesus. But Jesus is also distinct from any other person in very important ways.
True God and True Man
We believe Jesus is who he claims to be in the Scriptures. He is truly God, having existed with the Father and the Son from eternity. He is truly human—formed in Mary’s womb and born into the world at a particular time and place. Jesus alone is the one person who never sinned yet took all our sins upon himself and paid the debt we owe to God by his death on the Cross. He then rose from the dead as the living hope for all mankind. Because he lives, we too will live forever with him.
The Way, the Truth, and the Life
There are many religions that will promise you knowledge, enlightenment, and a path to eternal life. Jesus makes the same claim by saying, “I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” That’s a bold claim, but he also backs it up with something no other person who claimed to be from God ever did. He died, was buried, and came back to life after three days—just as he promised. Jesus also promises that everyone who believes in him will not truly die but will live forever with him.
Jesus is for You
Jesus told his disciples, “I did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.” He also told them, “I am the Good Shepherd, who lays down his life for his sheep.” Jesus also tells us that “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him.” God is for you, not against you. Jesus welcomes you to come to him and find peace and hope in him.
The Eternal King
“Though he was by nature God, Jesus did not consider equality with God as a prize to be displayed, but he emptied himself by taking the nature of a servant. When he was born in human likeness, and his appearance was like that of any other man, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:6-11
Below are a few brief statements on the core tenets of what we believe. If you have more questions, Pastor Nathan Erb would be happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have.

God’s grace is abundant, and He delights to shower you with it. God’s grace goes beyond tolerance, or overlooking our sins. God’s Grace is best described as “getting what we don’t deserve.” It is by God’s grace that we are saved from sin and death. Out of an abundance of His love for you, God sent Jesus to do the work of salvation by dying on the cross, and nothing gives Him more joy than giving you the merits of his sacrifice.

God gives us the gift of faith to believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. It is more than wishful thinking; it is founded on facts! The most important fact is the Christ really died, was buried, and came back to life. But more than just knowing the facts, faith causes us to trust that he did this for you! God promises that those who trust in Christ for their salvation, receive exactly what he promises: forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. Faith isn’t something we conjure up ourselves, it is given by God through His Word.

Words are how we communicate, and God speaks to us using words. God spoke words and brought all of creation into being. God spoke truths and made promises through people throughout history. God uses words to reveal himself and his love for us. Jesus is the Word of God in human form, so he is the living, breathing Word of God.
The Bible is more than a collection of moral stories, or a set of instructions for living. The Bible is God’s Word and has one primary intended function: to reveal God’s love for you in Jesus.
