Announcements

For the Week Starting 10/21

LET’S CHALLENGE OURSELVES, HOLY CROSS!  We hope you’ll join us in collecting 500 non-perishable food items for our “Feed Our Neighbors 2018” project this month.  All donations will be delivered to our friends at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.  While any non-perishable food item is welcome, Thanksgiving items are especially appreciated (such as green beans, peas, corn, stuffing mix, gravy mix, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes).  No glass, please.  Our collection is ongoing through November 4.  Don’t forget your donations next Sunday!

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY:  All men are invited to attend a video-based Bible Study entitled, “Fatherhood with Joel Biermann.”  Biermann is not only a dad, but a Concordia Seminary professor.  This study will relate how being a father is a demanding pursuit with a heavenly goal – raising kids who know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  This four-study series begins at 7 a.m. and continues on the following three Saturdays:  October 27, November 17 and December 8.  Each study will last approximately one hour.  We will meet in the conference room.

FRIDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS:  Please join us at 10:30 on Friday morning as we study the Bible with lecturer Dr. Craig Koester of the Lutheran Seminary.  His presentations have been found to be fascinating—for example, when he explored Luke through reversals, what is expected does not happen.  Come revisit the Bible with him.  There will be time for discussion.  Pastor will join us.

CHRISTIAN DISCUSSION GROUP:  Come out and join us at 10:15 a.m., on Wednesday, October 24, in the conference room.  Future meeting dates are also scheduled on the following Wednesdays:  October 31 and November 7, 14 and 28.  Hope to see you there!

CAN YOU SERVE AS A SUNDAY MORNING FELLOWSHIP HOST?  Pick a week that works with your schedule.  We have openings for the months of November and December.

NAMES OF THOSE REQUESTING PRAYERS are listed in our weekly bulletin.  If you submitted a prayer request, please keep Pastor updated on the individual’s condition.  We want to keep this list current, offering a prayer of thanksgiving when appropriate.  If you would like someone added or removed from the list, please let us know!
